Signing Up

Here are the steps to signing up:

"home" page

1. Locate the "Sign Up" section (lower right side of home page)
2. Fill in the userid and password (twice)
3. Click on the "Sign Up" button


"update registration info" page

4. Fill in the Registration Information.
5. Click on the "Save and Continue" button


"configure you blog" page

6. Select the Blog Studio Service you want
7. Enter your unique Blog and File Directory
8. Click on the "Finish" button

You have now completed the Sign Up process and are viewing the "Posts" page. Once you post and publish your first message, your initial blog will be created.

Authoring Functions

On the top of the page you will see options for the following features

posts	Type in the text of an entry and "Post" it. This saves it but does not "Publish" it to your blog web page.
templates	Manage and Change your Blog Template
files	Manage Blog Files (Delete and Upload any files under 1 MB, like images)
settings	Manage your Blog Configuration.
users	Manage your Guests. Also, you can manage your Registration Information (Personal and Blog Configuration) via the "edit your registration info" link from this page. This page lists the guests that can contribute to your blog. Guests are allowed to Post to, Publish and View your Blog.
blogs	Manage your Blogs. The list of blogs displayed includes blogs that are available to edit. Each blog in this list is either owned by the member, or the member is a guest of this blog. Blog Studio Pro members can also create additional blogs from this page.

To the left and right of the above authoring functions, you will see options for the following features

publish	Publishes Posts and Template Changes to your Blog web page.
search	Search the Blog's Archives.
view	Displays your blog. Sometimes you may need to refresh this new window.
test FTP settings	Test, diagnose and fix your FTP settings with this helpful tool for members hosting their blogs elsewhere.
statistics	Blog Studio Pro members view statistics reports from this link.
logout	This allows a member to log out, thus removing their log in session from the service until they log in next time. This will also be visible on the home page if you have logged in with a cookie, as will the "auto_login" link at the top of the right-hand column.

A blog is a special purpose, one page web site. If you use your Blog Studio Blog and Files Directory, your blog resides at "http://www.blogstudio.com:80/(directory)". If you host your blog on an existing web site using your own FTP host, then that is where it will be published to via FTP.

PostThis! (IE, NS)	This is bookmarklet link can be dragged to your browser toolbar. When you are visiting a web site that you want to comment on in your blog, you click on this link and you are prompted to log into Blog Studio where you will see the link (and any selected text in some browsers) placed in the "Text" field of the "Post" page (for Internet Explorer and Netscape browsers).
PostThis! (Opera)	Same thing, but for the Opera browser
system status	Blog for communicating Blog Studio news to our users.
our feedback	Blog displaying Blog Studio feedback, suggestions or comments.
feed back	Form for posting to the feedback blog
home	The Blog Studio home page
prices	This is the place to go to pay for the Blog Studio Pro service.
