He just can't leave Alaska alone
Bush plans House to agree on oil drilling in Alaska.
House Republicans are reviving President Bush's top energy priority -- opening an Alaska wildlife refuge to oil drilling -- although the Senate already has rejected it.
The refuge provision was among a package of energy proposals that were moving swiftly through several House committees Wednesday with expectations that the full House might take them up as early as next week.
Republicans included oil development in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as part of a broader package of energy proposals approved Wednesday by the Resources Committee.
While the refuge drilling measure has a good chances of passing the House, it is certain to again run into trouble in the Senate, which rejected developing of ANWR's oil by a 52-48 vote two weeks ago.

US cluster bombs danger to kids
US cluster bombs are a danger to civilians especially kids.
They say "bomblets" that reach the ground without exploding can harm civilians by detonating later. A particular concern, says UNICEF, is that children could confuse the bomblets with humanitarian food rations being handed out by US troops, because they are the same bright yellow colour.

US wants Iraqi POW's captured by Brits
US wants Iraqi POW's captured by Brits.
British cabinet ministers are warning that it would be illegal for Tony Blair to bow to US demands for Iraqi prisoners of war captured by the British to be handed over to the US for trial or imprisonment in America.
They are checking reports that paramilitaries captured by the British will eventually be segregated from regular prisoners of war and then handed to the US military police before being sent to the US base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba for questioning.

Islam online reported this on monday.

The network said the Iraqi information ministry had asked al-Jazeera reporters Diyar al-Umari, who works in Baghdad, and Taysir Alluni to leave the country as soon as possible.
"The Iraqi Information Ministry gave no justification for its decision," the channel said. "As al-Jazeera Channel regrets this sudden and unjustified stand by the Iraqi Information Ministry, it announces that it has decided -- until further notice -- to suspend the work of all its correspondents in Iraq."

Why men love porn
Yes, why is it that men like porn on the net.
Some 200 million people are online worldwide, and studies place pornography at between 20 and 30 per cent of all internet traffic. The only words entered in search engines more often than 'sex' are 'the' and 'and'. One study recorded 98 million visits to the top five free porn sites per month, and 19 million per month to the top five paying sites.

Unhelpful allies
The money for reconstructing Iraq is not to be spent on products or services from "unhelpful allies".
When the House Appropriations Committee meets today to approve $75 billion for war and reconstruction costs, Rep. George Nethercutt, R-Wash., plans to offer an amendment to prohibit use of the money to purchase goods or services from corporations in countries that opposed the war. The amendment says contracts should be awarded "where possible" to companies from nations that have aided the USA in Iraq.

Pantyhose new defensive weapon in Iraq
Pantyhose new defensive weapon in Iraq.
Women's pantyhose work well enough as a sand-flea barrier, but several companies make pantyhose especially for men. G. Lieberman & Sons offers a practical line of male-only pantyhose through its Web site, www.glieberman.com. Several models sport male-friendly fly openings and the hose comes in several sizes, from the more traditional waist-length versions to shorter three-quarter and sock-sized models.

The most notable victim was al-Jazeera, the Qatar-based satellite TV network that angered many Western viewers earlier this week when it aired footage of dead British and American soldiers and of prisoners of war.
