Where have we been and what have we been doing? As those who follow this blog on a regular basis know, we are attempting to build an e-commerce website and keep you updated here on our progress. You also know we like to read alot. And that's just what we've been doing, reading and trying to put that information into practice.

We've done alot of reading concerning the marketing/promotion of a small business. Believe it or not, it seems that many of them gain business by producing a little flyer. We may not be the sharpest tacks in the bulletin board, but we figured we could do that. So we did. Actually, we've created 2 separate flyers.

The first one is more general and is an invitation to visit our site. It includes the web address in BIG letters on the front and back. It says:

Over the years much has been made of the luxurious lifestyle. Magazines describe it in great detail in stories and photographs. Television shows celebrate it with shows depicting the lifestyles and homes of the well to do. Great care is given to feature their cars, vacations, summer homes and much more.

At yurdlecity we see nothing wrong with celebrating life in this way. But we also understand that it is not an everyday event for most of us. That's why we provide the information necessary to make those truly special occasions unforgetable because we believe that 'the good life' was meant to be enjoyed by all.

Each of us has our own ideas about what the luxurious lifestyle really is. We bring you a cross-section of those ideas with some tips on how to make it a lasting, happy memory.

We offer you guides to holding a dinner party or an intimate gathering of friends and family which include recipes, cleaning tips and much much more.

We feature some of the most exquisite recipes from the McLemore Estate and more down to earth fare from the Seven Barr Ranch.

Need to find the perfect gift? We offer a gift guide featuring many of the fine gifts that we have given or received on special occasions over the years.

With a little care and preparation, we hope you enjoy living the good life. And to help you get started, we've included a free recipe from the Seven Barr Ranch on the back of this flyer.

The second is a little more specific and mentions our helpful hints on planning a party. It says:

Planning a party? Don't know where to start? That's alright, we do. And just like the recipe on the other side of this page, all of the information is free. Just log on to the website listed below, click on 'Living Guide' and start planning.

We've made it so easy that you can even print out the whole guide and take it with you as you work on your preparations.

Do it all in three easy steps:

     - Preparation
     - Presentation
     - Produlation

Each of them contains a recipe on the back to help ensure that the flyer won't be disposed of too quickly.

You will also note that the first one is a little bigger. As a cost saving measure, we've set that one up so that we can fit 2 to a page. The second is smaller and is designed to allow 4 per page of 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

We haven't quite worked out the logistics for distributing these yet, but when we do, you'll be the first to know.

FYI - We haven't had any more responses concerning our email to the newspapers, but that doesn't mean nothing is happening on that front, so we'll keep an eye on it.
