Travis!

Oh, the concert was beautiful.

Well, first my day was rough. I went to Tower to see if I could buy a ticket, but then the ticketmaster lady said that it was sold out. I could just see it in her eyes when she was looking it up. She didn't even say sorry or anything. OR give me advice, on going to the actual venue. No. But it was probably because I walked away right after, upset. So then I was angry, until I talked to Jess on the phone. She said that she was 100% sure that I could find a ticket at the concert. So that made me happy, her being an expert and all. So we went. And I was so nervous getting out the of the car, cause it was late and I thought for sure they would have run out. But I went, and I asked if they were selling tickets and the guy, all nonchalant said, yeah. It was only $35! Haha, no service charge fee. So I was all excited, and my mom having parked the car came back all in a rush, frantic until I showed her the ticket. She then left, but not before I hugged her. She was worried, but I wasn't.

Jess and I were standing outside, waiting and waiting and guess what? waiting some more! Haha, I was listening to the guys behind us and they were talking about country music and how all the country radio stations only play pop country-- which to them isn't real country. Which I agree. They were talking about great bands such as Wilco, Whiskeytown and of course, Ryan Adams. (I must get his cd soon!) When it was time to go in, they did a purse check, and I was worried. Camera in sock, they didn't even look further! I was happy. Haha... do you want to know how Jessica hid her camera? Muahhaa....

Jessica was rushing when we went inside because you have to get wristbands if you want to be on the floor. It seemed like not that many people knew about it, cause some people were just standing around. Oh, well. So after we went to some merchandise. There was hardly any! I'm mad. I just got a Travis shirt. They had a sweater for $45(!) but that was too big and they also had a, uh, condom (Fuck the Peace Out--hehe, those silly Scottish men). The man was trying to be all witty, no not witty, more like well, annoying. "So you want a small, small?? Or a medium-medium??" Why can't he just say they normal sizes?!

During this time, Jessica also saw the guy from Phantom Planet, who's name I can't spell. Anyways, I told her to go talk to him but she wouldn't. *sigh* He had a camera, and later on he was behind us during the concert and she still wouldn't do anything.

So after we bought our merchandise, and I finally got something to drink we went upstairs to the balcony. The chairs were hard. But it was okay. Jessica said we needed time to "rest," before Travis came out. Haha. I was paranoid about taking my camera out, but after Jess took like 10 pictures (with a big flashing light) and no one said anything, I took out mine. Jason Faulkner (sp?) was the opening act. The one man show --literally. Haha. It was weird, but surprisingly he pulled it off. And then for his last song, Andy, Neil and Dougie came out. I flipped out! I told Jess that we had to go onto the floor right away. I thought that afterwards, Jason would jump out and Fran jump on. Haha. But no, they just came to play with Jason for his last song.

So we went downstairs, the floor was very crowded, but not so much like Rooney. Probably because of the way it was set up, more people divided in different sections. When I looked up to the balcony, it was full. But on the floor, I don't know--people don't know that they need to move more front. I had so much space around me! It was odd. I kept wanting to push the people in front of me because they had so much room.

The first song they played was "Happy to Hang Around." Which has been my song of the week. It easily gets stuck in your head! And then they were on their fourth song and I was like what?? This is going by too fast. I think the third song was "Re-offender." Neil was aw, playing the drums but I didn't get to see much. Grr. And we were on Dougie's side cause Jess wanted to be near him. Haha, I love the way he dances. So funny. And Andy! He goes so crazy-- I love it. I thought he was going to break something. Fran. I don't know, it was surreal seeing him up there. Ahh, Fran I love you! My favorite song writer. Oh, yes he cut his hair! Yay! Now it's like during his "The Man Who" period. Everytime an album is released he has new hair. For "12 Memories" it was long. Now it's short, and, *sigh* I love it. Makes me feel young again! Speaking of youth--everyone was old! Sorry to use that word, but compared to Jess and I --old! When we were in the balcony there was like this 60 year old lady next to Jess. And then on the floor there were these 40 year old ladies. Ahhh! And mostly everyone late 20's and older. Hardly anyone our age. I felt like I was 11 years old, all over again.

When they came back for an encore, Fran came along with his guitar. He sang, unplugged: "Let's turn off the fucking PA." Or somethign roughly, like that. Haha. He sang, "Flowers in the Window." Aww, that was one of the best moments. The entire place had to so quiet cause otherwise you couldn't hear it but his voice, it sounded the best that I've ever heard it. He got mad, shaking his head whenever anyone cheered because then otherwise you can't hear! Haha. So then, when Dougie, Andy and Neil came back he said: "This song's dedicated to all those fuckers who were...." I forget, but something about interrupting, to which everyone only cheered more. The song: Peace the Fuck Out. It was so much fun, everyone screaming PTFO at the end! Then, the last song: Why Does It Always Rain on Me? Fran said he needed help sing this song, so everyone sang along.
This, "PTFO," "Turn" and "All I Wanna Do Is Rock" were the ones that had the most responses. They should have done more from "Good Feeling"! They didn't even play "More than Us." I was sad. Fran said they changed the playlist from show to show. How not very nice!! I want to hear more!! It ended way too soon! And afterwards-- it rained! How appropriate.

Fran also said how happy they were to be back in LA. Cause everyone is nice here, *cough* *cough*. There's tons more I wish to say but Travis is on Craig Kilborn now. I must go watch!

Jessica, this was the best!

I finally got to see THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD play live.

Wow, for the past hour I haven't really been doing anything. It's quite strange, I feel less stressed out (at home) during finals then I do during the rest of the school year. Except that when I'm at school, I'm way stressed out.

Well, it's Angel time.

Tom Lenk is guest starring!

"Fold it. The note, it's a fake right? When your mom hands you a note, the first you do is fold it and put in your pocket. If it's real, then where's the crease?" -Frank. W. Abagnale, Catch Me If You Can

I folded my note especially today, just because Mr. Abagnale's voice popped into my head.

It's finals week! Eek! How evil! I hate this time of year. But suprisingly I've done good in all my tests thus far.
