Religious Discrimination in Hiring

Right now, three computer-related job descriptions on Monster.com require applicants to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing.

Religious Discrimination as described by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of l964 prohibits employers from discriminating against individuals because of their religion in hiring, firing, and other terms and conditions of employment. Title VII covers employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local governments. It also applies to employment agencies and to labor organizations, as well as to the federal government.
One would expect that the leading online global careers network and world's #1 hiring management resource would be monitored a little more closely. Unless I am missing something here...

Singapore Surpasses U.S. As Top Tech Nation

The U.S. drops from first to fifth in the rankings, which measures the propensity for countries to exploit the opportunities offered by information and communications technology (ICT).

The U.S. should do much more in these areas:
1. Government's consistent and continuous efforts in fostering ICT penetration and usage
2. Quality of the country's educational system
3. Ability to use foreign technology

Instead, the U.S. is...

Moving backward...Laws are being passed to ban free Wireless networks to preserve telecommunication companies' obsolete business models...

Not addressing issues...Reforms, not rhetoric, needed to keep jobs on U.S. soil

Wonder why the U.S. lost its technology edge...
